Structural insulated panels (SIPs) are a high performance building system for residential and light commercial construction. The panels consist of an insulating foam core sandwiched between two structural facings, typically oriented strand board (OSB). SIPs are manufactured under factory controlled conditions and can be fabricated to fit nearly any building design. The result is a building system that is extremely strong, energy efficient and cost effective. Building with SIPs will save you time, money and labor.

At Vesta, we have been building with SIPs since 2005. Our projects have ranged from ultra-efficient passive solar homes to apartment and office buildings. Cathedral ceilings can be very difficult to build efficiently with traditional framing methods. By using SIPs for the roofing panels, we obtain edge to edge thermal integrity preventing heat loss which can lead to ice dams on your eaves. Using SIPs for the exterior walls eliminates thermal breaks which would normally occur at every stud. SIP walls are also far more resistant to air infiltration resulting in a more comfortable and healthy home.
